Side dish help!

I am planning to serve hot stroganoff sandwiches for a football game gathering and I want to make a hot side dish that can be prepared ahead of time. Originally I thought potato wedges, but have decided I would like to do something else. Any ideas?

In the potato range either the currently fashionable smashed and herbed roasted red potatoes, or the reliably popular scalloped potatoes, or how about a hot German potato salad?
