Soup for Wedding Lunch Reception

Do you think that serving soup and sandwiches for a wedding lunch reception would work? What would you serve the soup out of that would look professional instead of having to purchase soup warmers/kettles?

Soup needs to be very hot. Rent the kettles. If it is buffet have 2 choices, one meaty and one vegetarian cream of something. Read the article on sandwich events and do not premake the sandwiches, but instead set up a sandwich buffet. Add a bowl of swirled peanut butter and jam for the young and young at heart.
