Every year I plant Thyme and then let it go. I decided to dry it this year. Is there a better way of getting it off each individual stem other than pulling down the stem? It is so time consuming. I also have loads of oregano, but again, there's a lot of wood to work around. |

I dont know of a better way. You might try freezing some on the stem- it will keep a few months, extending your fresh thyme season, and you won't mind stripping the one stem. Or maybe you have some small hands that could be put to child labor for a little wage? |

I just remembereed- if it is VERY dry, you can put the stems in a large screen seive and rub back and forth for powdered thyme. |

Thanks Ellen. Good suggestions. Don't know why I didn't think of the freezing. Unfortunately, no more small hands around my house anymore. I came across your website by accident, and am I ever glad I did!! I've been telling others about it. |
