I am in charge of food for Vacation Bible School. We have 20 Adults, 10 Youth, and 45 children.

How should much should I prepare for soft beef tacos, refried beans, and tossed salad?

Using my tables for 100 and my taco bar recipes, I would prepare 3/4 the amount for 100, counting the children as 1/2 each. If it is all older children instead of a mix, I might go to 85% of 100.

I have been asked to do a wedding cake to serve 350-400 guests. What size tiers would I need to accommodate this? My oven will only hold a 14" pan so I'm planning to make an extra cake or two and frost them for the overflow. Thanks in advance.

Cheryl, use 8/10 of the plan for 100 quantity pages. 2 dogs per piece, but I suggest you get Polish sausages or kiolbasa, not too much more at the warehouse store, and much tastier.

Susan, go to the dessert/teaparty planning pages and look at the guide to slices/servings for all the different layers. Wedding cake serving is tiny- 1"x2"x2". This is a very big wedding. If you have never made a wedding cake, you need to talk to someone who has- they are a whole different ball game. It isn't just how much, but shapes, layers, fillings and frostings, assembly and delivery, take home boxes, napkins and plates. Real caterers also assign a cutter and charge extra for this person.

Cheryl, the sandwich event page has condiment info.

Susan, Usually the extra cakes are called grooms cakes if made of a different flavor and displayed (often chocolate). Called kitchen cakes if made as sheet cakes of the same flavor as the display cake and cut for the extra guests.
