Feeding 225 on July 4th--2 hours or so after supper we are having watermelon andd ice cream. Got the ice cream covered (buying 10 gallons) I have a source to get the watermelon in large chunks in 10 lb increments so I don't have to think about the rinds etc but how much do I get considering everything...any idea? Thanks sooooo much. You should get paid for this job if you don't......:) |

I have never seen an estimate for less than 75 pounds per 100 persons, and when I am ordering whole melons, I order 1 pound per person, as it is one of the few fruits that keep over a week if uncut. You can sell off the whole ones remaining... I am anticipating 2 knee replacements this year and will be off my regular job about 6 months. Maybe I SHOULD put a donation button on the site... |

Thanks for the info, NOW I will have to see if we can afford this much watermelon from my source!!! But I am serious, I would pay $ for the info you give out and there is a website, not sure how it is set up but they answer medical questions for the money the questioner offers, more money gets a more in depth answer. Anyway, thanks again!!! |
