The making Marzipan part of this website does not make sense, you use short sentences to explain what to do, and its hard to read. Not only that but the information on how to make it isn't very simple, i have looked at other sites and they tell you how long to put in over or whatever, and yours says wait for 2-3weeks before you use it. Please Explain! |

I regret you found it hard to use, some of the earlier pages do need editing, but my readers seem to want more new pages rather than prettying up the older ones. The wait is to allow it to blend or ripen, just good baking procedure. I will review the instructions, after recovering from the computer disaster. |

HI!! I'm planning to make some marzipan, and wonder if your site has changed since you received the message on 1/10/06? Also, I have a question: how can I grind the almonds? I don't have a food processor. I do have a good blender and will check that out, too. Any help you can offer will be MUCH appreciated! Sincerely,

Hi, Bob, I went back to check. What is funny is that the two recipes the reader objected to are two of only a few recipes on the whole site that are quoted directly from another source, with the recipe correctly attributed of course, and I clearly marked them "in the author's own words". In addition I have received other emails saying they LIKED these directions. Sigh. Anyway, the last recipe is a blender based recipe. I can only caution that you need patience because you should do only a small amount of nuts at a time (like, about 1/4 cup) to avoid overheating the blender motor. Marzipan is basically almond paste with sugar worked in. |
