| Angie 12/05/05 | Has anyone out there tried the new Kenmore Induction cooktop. It is supposed to cook as well as gas. I like the cleanup of my glasstop stove but not the lack of power or instant temperature adjustments. |
| ellen 12/07/05 | I haven't yet and am looking forward to comments. |
| Ginni 08/31/06 | I just bought the Kenmore induction cooktop and am waiting to have it installed. The questions I have are: Is there a way to adapt a non-magnetic pot/pan so it can be used on the induction burner, e.g. putting a magnetic bottom flat plate on the burner then putting a regular non-magnetic plate on top of that. The reason I ask is that I haven't found a grill pan, steamer, double boiler or griddle I can use with induction. I'm also considering the Thermador hybrid with 2 conventional electric and 2 induction burners. |
| ellen 08/31/06 | Ginni, as far as I know, no-one has even thought of an "induction adapter". It could burn out the element, a very expensive proposition. If you can't find the right pots, you may want to do the hybrid. |
| Angie 09/24/06 | Ginni, All Clad makes stainless pots that can be used on an induction cooktop. Just check out their website..www.All-Clad.com. Also, Le Creuset makes a cast iron enamel clad grill pan that is excellent and can be used on induction ranges. I too am looking at the new Thermador induction cooktops to replace a regular smoothtop I now have. It's about time the U.S. manufacturers catch up with Europe on the induction cooking method. |

| ellen 11/21/06 | I tried this with a nonstick griddle and ruined the griddle, actually the nonstick surface. I don't know abour your grill. |
