Hi Ellen!
We are hosting a wedding reception this summer. The couple is anticipating about 75 guests.

They are interested in the following menu:

appetizers:
crackers/cheese
veggie tray

main menu

chicken franchese
baked cavatelli
broccoli alfredo over hats
fruit salad
ceaser salad
rolls

The wedding will take place in the back yard, followed by an hour of appetizers and drinks (lemonade/mimosas/ice tea)

The cake will be three tiered--12", 9" and 6"

Can you tell me how much of each, they might plan for? We are trying to help them with their budget

OK, 75 people.

appetizers:
crackers, 5 pounds assorted
cheese, about 6-8 pounds depending on what kinds. Some can be logs or spreads
veggie tray, see the veggie tray page, but do consider doing the classic relish tray with just a few finger veggies- more festive

fruit salad- suggest you switch to fruit trays and put with the appetizers- easier to hold, looks prettier, and the leftovers are more usable. See the fruit tray page.

main menu

chicken franchese- 1 pound boneless breast per 3, or per 2 for the big eaters
baked cavatelli, about 6 pounds dry
broccoli alfredo- 12 pounds broccoli
over hats- 2 ounces fresh per person

caeser salad- use the plan for 100 page, do 3/4

rolls- 2 crusty per
2 pounds butter

lemonade- about 6 gallons
ice tea- about 6 gallons, 1/2 unsweet
mimosas- 1 bottle of champagne makes about 8 mimosas. 1 quart of OJ makes about 10

The cake depends on how high the layers are. Do review the cake size discussion here (bottom of the page):

You can always add a 2 layer 9x13 chocolate groom's cake.

If this saves you time, trouble, or money, please make a donation, maybe a dime or quarter per guest, to help support the site. Thanks.
