Any ideas for reception or rehearsal dinner foods/beverages for a wedding that is having a Scottish Theme (held in Texas!). Want something that looks pretty, is cost effective and can be replicated (not sure how many will be attending, but it may be 250-400 for wedding).

Here is San Antonio, we have pipers.
Assuming you don't want haggis (trust me, you don't) you might consider baked salmon, barley pilaf or colcannon, Drambuie-glazed carrots or clapshot and a variety of the lovely baked tea breads and shortbread, of course.

i need a recipe for a ellis island project. and i need a recipe that eight graders would like that has no nuts in it. i need a attention grabber. something dilecious, something that looks good. something that will blow all of their minds away

If you want a Scottish or English recipe, go to the sites above and bake some of the cakes, shortbreads or ccokies. If you have some help, try a yeast bread or cake recipe with oatmeal and raisins. Take some real butter- people will like it!
