This party is the end of July in the afternoon, in the Los Angeles area. I live in Milwaukee,WI My parents love Shrimp. We are expecting about 100 people. I thought I would stick with appetizers. Any suggestions? |

You must allow at least 3 ounces shrimp per person for any given dish, you might consider having boiled or peel and eat PLUS baked stuffed PLUS a molded shrimp or shrimp and crab dip. For a mid afternoon (you don't need as much food as over a mealtime), then you want at least 4 other "bites", plus one or two platters and dips (cheese? tiny deli sandwiches?). See the appetizer planning page for a discussion about amounts, and there are several pages of ideas/ recipes. Add a fruit tray and you have a very pretty table You will probably have a cake or some such dessert but it is very festive to have an actual dessert bar- see the page on planning a dessert bar. Or if they are an informal group, you might consider a sundae bar- there is an article with links to pictures. |
