I browned a pork roast under the broiler and put it in the crock at 8:30am. When I got home at 11:30am I realized I did not turn on the crock!! Is it safe to cook it now, assuming the temp would kill anything bad?? It will cook for 7-8 hours. |

The official food police answer: NO. The I am not throwing away this meat answer: the broiler trip reduced the outer bacteria. I will NOT slow cook it, too long at lower temps. I will whack it into stew chunks, brown over high heat and cook it straight through until done. I will NOT save or refrigerate or refreeze the leftovers. |
