Ellen- I am having my wedding reception in 3 weeks and am stressing about the amount of food to serve. We will be feeding 150 (maybe a few more). I have looked on your site and am still not sure and wanted you to clarify. The menu: Pork Tenderloin (with dinner rolls for sandwiches) Chicken Wings Meatballs Veggie Tray Cheese Tray Fruit Tray w/dip Relish Tray Cheese Ball and Crackers Pinwheels
We will obviously have cake as well but I have that under control. Also will have mixed nuts and mints. I guess my question is how much of each do I need? I know that you have food for 100 but I want to take into consideration all the food we are serving and make sure. Please HELP! |

You must tell me what time is the wedding and the reception. People eat twice as much food at mealtime as they do mid-afternoon or later in the evening. |

Sorry...we are having a private ceremony the week before. The reception will be at 6:30 and we are planning to serve food buffet style. Thanks so much for all your help! tp |

OK. Too bad it is not 7:30, people would eat before they came. At 6:30 most people will be eating dinner and you need a total of about 1 1/2 pounds of food per person. You want 6 pieces chicken wings, PLUS 4 ounces cooked ready to eat pork PLUS 3-4 meatballs per person for the proteins. 3 pieces pinwheels each. Rolls depend on size- 2 small (about 3 ounces total) would be about right. I'de like to see one carb type appetizer- maybe bruschetta or the Parmesan spinach squares that can be served room temp? Total of 30 pounds cheeses and cheese logs/balls, 12 pounds crackers (you will have some crackers left). Two times the amount on my relish tray for 50-60 on the veggie tray page. 2-3 ounces veggies plus 1/4 cup veggie dip per person. 4 ounces fruit pieces plus 1/4 cup fruit dip per person. The edible weights and as purchased weights for fruits and veggies and the preparation tips are on the fruit tray page and the veggie tray page. 6 pounds each nuts and mints per 100 people. That should do it. Any more questions, write back. |
