09/30/08 		How many cups of uncooked rice to make a gallon of cooked rice?

09/30/08 		This is going to make you groan, but it depends on the rice; for example, short grain and basmati extra long grain don't cook up the same. On the whole though, 1 cup raw rice (about 1/2 pound) makes about 3 cups of cooked rice.
