My daughter is getting married in two weeks~ it will be an afternoon wedding~ 4:00. Reception will be in the ballroom with tables being outside as well. We'll serve wine and beer..I'll have the wine bottles in pretty ironestone containers, in ice. I'm not sure what to put the beer in..what would be pretty? We'll have bottle beer~ Thanks for any help I can get!! |

The same type buckets would be fine for the beer- or you could do stations inside and out where people would go and get their beer from larger iced containers- there are large pretty flowerpots that migh go with your setting. |

ellen~ I like your idea for the large pretty flowerpots~ that's good! The ironstone containers for the wine~ I have just the two. Are we talking about clay pots, plastic that look like clay? I could get "large" plastic flowerpots..easy to move around. These could be sit on the porch of this "historic" ballroom. This porch will have tables with white tablecloths, white flower tulipierres holding daisies. Over the tables will be a huge group of paper lanterns...I could do "stations" there...THANK YOU ELLEN. Any any thoughts on this? |

Yes I was thinking about the plastic ones. The ice and beer will hold them steady. White would also be pretty for this porch I think. |

I just got home form Lowes~ we bought two 22" fiberglass flowerpot/planters.They have a plug/stopper to keep them from draining. My husband is spray painting them white as I type! lol! They're really pretty, very lightweight. They have a vine patteren detail. This will be very pretty for our vintage garden wedding..I'm happy! Thanks again... Love this site! |

Good. Enjoyed your blog. You will want to take a read of the cook talk thread called: "Wedding Reception Menu Ideas" For another mom's adventures. |
