I am having an informal outside wedding reception in two weeks and I am unsure of how much to purchase. I plan to have a lunchmeat and cheese tray, meatballs, macaroni salad, potato chips, and a champagne punch. Can you help? I just don't want to make a poor estimate and have way too much or worse yet not enough!

Tonia, with all the tables for 100 posted, I rarely do an initial estimate, but you have left this way too late, so I am going to bend my own rule.

If this is over a mealtime, you need to fill out the meal some. Even for a light lunch, I would add:

rolls/bread and sandwich condiments

fruit trays

a dip with the chips

non-alcoholic beverages

So here is the idea:

lunchmeat and cheese tray,
deli-sliced, 2 pounds meat for 7 people, 14 pounds minimum- could go as high as 16
cheese, 8-10 pounds sliced
rolls/bread and sandwich condiments
See sandwich event page, use 1/2 the amounts for 100

meatballs
about 1 pound for each 4 people with toothpicks

macaroni salad,
2 gallons (start with3 -3 1/2 pounds dry macaroni)

potato chips,
3 pound, dip 3 quarts

fruit tray
see the fruit tray page. Make 2 of the fruit tray for 25. Beautiful on the table and delicious.

a champagne punch
about 3 gallons

nonalcoholic beverages
about 3 gallons

Don't forget ice and water. See the beverage planning page for help.
