Hi Ellen, I'm making Strawberry Shortcake for 50. I did a search on your site for how many lbs of berries to buy. (Local Lions Club selling 14lb and 26lb boxes for sliced strawberries.) Thank you! |

Ellen, I just a site that told me: 1½ lbs = 1 Quart (3 3/4 cups) Strawberries or 2 1/4 cups sliced. Thanks! |

Hi! I am searching for how many lbs. or ounces of strawberries I would need to make strawberry shortcake for 150 people? Also, how much Cool Whip would be necessary? Thanks so much! |

Use the numbers just above. Make one shortcake according to your plan, MEASURE the berries, then figure out how many quarts or pounds you need- people vary a great deal in how much strawberry they put on their shortcake. Use a measuring cup or scoop to serve, or you may run out. I would not use Cool Whip, I would use real whip cream in he spray can. Either one has the number of tablespoons or cups on the side of the can, Allow 4 tablespoons or 1/4 cup per person, and add a couple of extra cans/tubs; people get a little generous serving. |
