How do you make tapioca syrup? |
ellen 05/24/08 |
I haven't. Tapioca is a non-sweet starch, not inclined toward syrup. What is it like and how do you want to use it? |

This is a commercial product, like agave syrup, I can't find any guidance on make-at-home. Here is what I did find. Tapioca Syrup is a healthful and allergen-free alternative to other sweeteners.
Substitute tapioca syrup in place of sugar, honey, corn syrup, maple syrup or molasses. Its flavor is very neutral and is well suited to being flavored with natural flavorings to make your own syrups. Tapioca Syrup is commonly used in the production of other foods or as a replacement for corn syrup in baked goods. Tapioca Syrup is used to add sweetness, binding or texture to beverages, baked goods, table syrups, frozen desserts, and candies. When used as a binding agent, Tapioca helps to keep foods such as meats from drying out after they are processed. |
