I've started a garden with hot banana peppers in it. I've had several people tell me that the pepper will get hotter as it matures, but several have told me that it will get milder. I would rather not just taste test... Can anyone tell me which it is and how to tell when the pepper will be the hottest? |

The peppers have a natural heat level, that varies by type and breeding. In addition, the more sun and less water they get, the hotter- they make more oil. So if you want milder, next time get sweet to start. This time, water a lot and possibly shade. |
