I just need to know how long and at what temperature to cook about 50 baked potatoes in an electric roaster. Thank you very much! |

50 potatoes is probably too many for one roaster unless they are quite small. Remember these roasters function best if only 1/2 to 2/3 full. 10 pounds in a preheated oven at 400 take about 1 (small) to 1 1/2 (larger) hours. Add about another half hour to do 15 pounds. 50 can weigh up to 30 pounds depending on size... too much for 1 oven. In a crock pot, enough to fill the pot 2/3 full takes 2 1/2-4 hours or so on high; on low 6-8 hours. |

We figured that would be way too many for 1 roaster so we intended to use more. If we fill each roaster 1/2 full (about 25 potatoes) and cook at 400 they should take about 1 1/2 - 2 hours? Thanks! |

About right. Add 1/2 hour if you do not preheat the roaster, or if the raw potatoes are cold. Turn the roasters down to 200 when the potatoes are done. See the potato bar article for info on how to prep, why no foil, and topping amounts. |
