I came accross your website and thought, I would tell you the source of these spices. Most of the spices you names are originally from India and the Bharat is a sanskrit name, originally name of India from ancient times,not persian, signifying the source of the country. Infact the combinations are also Indian, so instead of calling them arabic or bharat, please update and call them Indian. |

Thank you Latika, especially for the information about the Sanskrit origin of the word. As many other foods and flavors, it appears to have migrated east from India, all the way to Morocco, and now across oceans to the west. The recipes I have posted I was taught by Middle Eastern cooks, bu I will add your information. |
