My son is having a benefit this weekend to raise money to help his friend whose Mother just died from cancer. My son and his friend are doing a noble thing, however they have no idea how much food to have. They are hoping for 200 people, but I'm planning on 150. They would like to serve hot roast beef sandwiches, meatball sandwiches, potato salad, and macaroni salad. Could you please help me figure out how much of everything they need. Thanks! |

These are pretty much covered in the sandwich event page and the plan for 100 page, but under the circumstances, I will bend my rule about asking you to do the first estimates.
Mac salad for 100 start with 6 pounds mac plus trimmings recipes on site. I would not do meatball sandwiches unless the meatballs are premade- in that case, 1 pound meatballs plus just over 1 cup sauce for 4 hoagie size sandwiches. Hot roast beef, depends on open face, Italian style, or what, but at least 3 ounces cooked which means 1 pound raw boneless for each 3 sandwiches. Turkey is cheaper and very popular as long as you have cranberry and mayo. Sandwich fixings are in a table on the sandwich event page, amounts per 100. Whole dill pickles at $1 each are a good fundraiser in most areas- you could pick up a gallon jar or two. I hope they have good success. |
