I have an older GE glass cooktop, with the black ceramic elements, two of them thermostatically controlled. Recently got a new set of Kitchenaid cookware, stainless w/aluminum base. When I try to use them on the thermostatic elements, the element seems to go to max heat, as if the thermostat is not contacting the pan bottom. The cooktop has had little use, so I don't think the thermostats are defective. Also, they work okay with my older solid aluminum pans. Any ideas? |

Well, I would say use them on the other two elements. These days all burners have a controller that is supposed to keep them from overheating, and it is an often replaced part. |
