Several moms are getting together and hosting dinner before the Homecoming Dance for about 34 seniors (so much cheaper than eathing at a restaurant!) We're planning on serving tri-tip. Any ideas for the starch, veggie and dessert? Thanks much! |

Homecoming Dinner How about twice-baked potatoes (more restaurant-y, and a main course level protein for the non-meat eaters) or scalloped potatoes, three color whole green with carrot slivers (avaiable frozen) with a sprinkle of toasted slivered almonds, and a fourth item on the plate such as a spoonful of fresh salsa to complement the meat or a second veggie (broccoli is a favorite)? Add really good rolls with real butter, and a salad or starter plate so it is more like a restaurant meal. For dessert, I would offer a choice of cheesecake with or without a fruit topping, or something chocolate (mousse or cake). |

Homecoming Dinner What a good suggestion on the twice-baked. They would be easy to keep warm in a roaster oven too. Your website has been so very helpful! Thanks! |
