How may whole chickens will i need to boil to make enought shredded chicken for BBQ sandwiches for 30 people? |

The whole chicken makes almost exactly half its weight in chicken meat. I pound of meat is 2 cups. 1 sandwich is usually 1/2 cup meat (1/3 with the largest buns). If it is a mixed crowd, 1.2 to 1.3 sandwiches is about right per person. Teens eat 2 each. So figure out how many sandwiches you want to make and buy the chickens planning on 1 pound whole chicken for each 2 sandwiches. |
