HELP!! I need to make Sloppy Joes for 50 hungry athletes. (Either that or BBQ beef sandwiches ...?) I'm not sure how much meat I need ...? Also, any suggestions for side dishes and how much I would need? |

Oh, boy , the descent of the locusts! Treat this as 75 regular adults and make 3/4 of the recipes for 100. They will eat 2 sandwiches apiece, so you want a recipe with about 18 pounds of burger. Add a heavy salad- pasta is faster and easier than potato, and you can sneak in a few veggies, 2 1.2 gallons. You want a side dish of beans, or a starchy dish; baked, borracho, plain ol' chili beans for example; or mac and cheese or scalloped potatoes; about 2 gallons of beans or 8 9x13 pans of casserole. Forgrt the tossed salds- they do like mini carrits with ranch. Look in the sandwich event page for amounts of condiments, spread, picckles, etc. |

Use 2/3 of a recipe for 100, or 1 1/3 of a recipe for 50. |
