to get it done ahead of time as I have to transport it to a dinner yes I have a fridge that gets that cold

OK. If you will cook it and then chill whole and covered until the day of, it will be least dried out and slice the best. 3 days is OK.
However, if you are planning to serve plated, not as sandwich or beef and gravy style, reheating is a challenge. That's why I asked the purpose- guess I should have said style it will be served. So let me know if you need reheating info.

Thanks so much.. I will be serving the beef to each one at the buffet table so it will need to be sliced and ready to pick up and plate by me as they go thru the buffet. how long will it need to be warmed then after being refridg overnite ....should it be in aujus?

Sliced thin, can be rewarmed right in hot au jus. Thicker, must be reheated, see the beef roasting page for discussion.
