I am organizing a funeral meal for 40 people and calling church members to bring either a roast or chicken. How many roasts and how many chicken pieces will be sufficient?
Thanks!

Basically, I allow 1 chicken for each 5 people and 5 ounces of cooked ready to eat roast per person in this type of meal. So, 8 chickens and 12 pounds cooked, which is about 15 pounds boneless raw beef or 4-5 large potroasts. You will have some left over, but this is useful for he family later.
