cracked kenmore elite 36 inch cooktop with s/s trm

my original cooktop is cracked model 44050. can i reuse the stainless steel trim from my original ceramic cooktop. sears had a replacement top available but was told the stainless steel trim was discontinued. It appears that this trim is either epoxy or glued down onto ceramic surface. Is this true?

Emil, I have no idea! However, these tops are so finicky, I would not try to glue anything to them...
