I need to know if I can cook brown beans (pinto) in a electic roaster. If so, how long and at what tempture? We are also serving fried potatoes can these be cooked in the elelctic oven?

Neoma, the roaster cooks beans as if it were a large stockpot; you bring to a boil, turn down to around 300, cover, stir occasionally. About 6-8 pounds dry beans is a safe load. You cannot fry potatoes in the roaster, but it can keep them warm; you will lose most of the crispness.
