I can't seem to find the answer to this question.
How do you figure on how much ice to buy for a large outside event where you are chilling canned and bottled drinks? If one assumes say- 100 people each needing 4-5 beverages per day, how many pounds of ice would you need to chill that many drinks?

If you look at my beverage planning page, you will see I recommend 1 to 2 pounds ice per person plus 40 pounds per cooler.

How much ice if you are serving water and lemonade at a wedding buffet for 300 people?

300 pounds, not counting ice chests, if outside; about 1/2 that if inside and the beverages are already cool.
