sloppy joes

Can I make sloppy joes from start to finish in a Nesco? Draining the grease from the burger might be a problem, unless I use real lean meat.
Could I just mix raw burger, and all the ingredients in the Nesco and let it cook ?on 300 for several hours?
Thanks.

Do PREHEAT the roaster at least 20 minutes to 350. You use the very lean beef- 90% or above, and you use less- about 7 pounds for every 8 pounds of regular burger you would have used. Do fry up your chopped onions, and bell pepper or celery if you use it, before adding to the roaster. Add everything, turn down to 300, and cook about 4 hours, stirring well occasionally to keep from sticking. The Sloppy Joes mix has a finer texture if the meat is not browned, more like what you would put on a hot dog.

The roaster does not cook off as much liquid, so be very conservative in adding your water/broth. Very hard to take it out...

Check for doneness after about 3 hours. Turn down to 180 when done and it will hold about 2-3 hours.
